SOFRECO is working on a European Union project to rehabilitate the electrical transmission and distribution grid in the province of Lusaka, Zambia. In this perspective, we are searching for a brilliant electrical or electromechanical engineer to lead the reparation and expansion of low voltage distribution networks (63,000 new connections in ten high density low income areas).

Qualifications and skills:
- A University degree or equivalent qualification of at least three (3) years in an engineering discipline is required. Postgraduate qualification in a relevant electrical or electromechanical engineering field will be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of English language, both written and verbal.
- Command of MicroSoft Project or equivalent software will be an advantage.
General professional experience:
- At least 15 years` experience with electrical infrastructure projects in construction management is required.
Specific professional experience:
- Assignment in at least two (2) service contracts in a technical position (i.e. not team leader, deputy team leader or equivalent) for the engineering design or the elaboration of technical specifications of transformers and overhead lines in urban or peri-urban areas
- Assignment in at least three (3) works supervision service contracts in a position of Supervisor Representative (or equivalent e.g. "Engineer" in FIDIC terms) or Resident Engineer for a cumulative input of minimum 25 man-months and a cumulative value of the works supervised not less than EUR 10 million
- Experience in at least one (1) contract financed by international organisations/ institutions will be an advantage
- Knowledge of EDF procedures for works contracts will be an advantage
- Experience in developing countries in Sub-Sahara Africa region will be an advantage.
