About the Job:

BlueOrchard Finance S.A. is seeking an Investment Officer. S/he will be responsible for initiating and maintaining communication with the FIs.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Effectively manage or co/manage a portfolio of clients to maintain and further develop the relationships:
- Monitor performance of FI clients and perform regular analytical reviews, assess credit risk of the outstanding loans to the FIs, and follow-up with the clients
Collect, analyze, and file FIs’ documentation
Assist and/or independently prepare and present credit proposals for submission to the credit committee for review and decision
- Develop and propose financial strength and credit ratings for the FIs
- Participate in negotiations with clients on the conditions/credit, co-ordinate with external parties, including other lenders and legal counsel as required
- Provide support and assist in preparing loan documentation, negotiating, and closing the loan deals and disbursement of loan proceeds.
- Actively support the head of the office or other team members in developing new business opportunities:
- Assist in the selection of FIs for financing
- Plan, prepare, and participate in on-site due diligence trips to FIs
- Draft and file FI due diligence reports.
- Carry out comprehensive research and prepare reports on country risk and update information and reports on regulatory and competitive environment of the local microfinance sector
- Together with senior investment team members perform portfolio analysis and report to supervisors, portfolio managers, and investors.
 
Description du profil du candidat

 
Qualifications:

- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Accounting or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in banking, microfinance, or economic development sectors (experience within the African context highly regarded)
- Previous experience in financing credit institutions and performing credit risk management, credit assessment, and financial and social due diligences of FIs will be highly regarded
- Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills in English and French
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Understanding of the due-diligence and lending processes in the microfinance sector
- Ability to assess credit risk and develop credit proposals
- Advanced personal organization and planning skills
- Experience with legal documentation, financial structuring, and loan portfolio management will be highly regarded.
